LAUNDRY
Most of the Prithipura orphanages lack washing machines, forcing the staff to wash almost a hundred peices of clothing by hand each day. However, without an electrical supply, there remains no way to resolve the problem.

LUNCH
Since the Sri Lankan government only provides the organization with 25 rupee per child per day (which is barely enough to buy a bun), prithipura communities runs thanks to donations.

This young girl was born with her brain located in sac outside of her head. While today she can look up and smile, as her brain continues to grow the weight will prevent her from lifting her head. She is in desperate need of medical attention.

At lunch many of the children are wheeled into a communal area where they can eat lunch together.

While this little boy cannot talk, he still enjoys company and loves to smile. He just one of the inhabitatants at prithipura communities who showcases the hope these children embody.

FACILITIES
While this unit was rebuilt after the sunami, many homes have not been renovated in ages and, because they are difficult to reach, lack basic amenities

Many of the children at Prithipura communities can be integrated in Sri Lankan society with just a bit of help

BATHROOM
Some of the children are in such poor mental condition, they remain immobile on moving wheel chairs that also serve a toliets. Yet, because of their age, many times these chairs only cause further discomfort.

THE OFFICE
Because of this particular branches central location, its gains many of its donations from the country's popular tourist industry. SeeSaws and playscapes are something still to be brought to the organization's other locations.

C-CURVE
This young girl, barely a year old, was abonded by her mother because of her extensive physical disabilites. Born with her back in a C-shaped curve, prithipura staff carry her around on a pillow.

One day we hope all the children at each of the organization's branches will be able to live a happier, more comfortable life.
